Order of Christian Initiation for Children

OCIC (formally known as RCIC) is the process involving “Christian Initiation of Children Who Have Reached Catechetical Age.” OCIC utilizes the same process as the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults, but with adaptations for children.
Through the OCIC process children prepare to receive the sacraments of initiation and enter the Catholic Church.

Who is OCIC for?

• All Children who are not Baptized.
• All Children who have been Baptized of another Christian faith who would like to become Catholic.
• All Children who have been Baptized in the Catholic Faith but did not receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist when they became of catechetical age (typically done in their 2nd grade year).

Weekly group meetings begin on Sunday mornings in September and continue through the conclusion of the lenten season (End of March/Early April).
