RCIC
Right of Christian Initiation for Children
RCIC is the process involving “Christian Initiation of Children Who Have Reached Catechetical Age.” RCIC utilizes the same process as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA), but with adaptations for children.
Through the RCIC process children prepare to receive the sacraments of initiation and enter the Catholic Church.

Who is RCIC for?
- All Children who are not Baptized.
- All Children who have been Baptized of another Christian faith who would like to become Catholic.
- All Children who have been Baptized in the Catholic Faith but did not receive the Sacraments of First Reconciliation and First Eucharist when they became of catechetical age (typically done in their 2nd grade year).
Whether your family is just entering the Church, is returning after time away, have decided as a family to delay your children’s sacramental preparation, or any other circumstance, all are welcome to come join our MBS community!

To Register your child for RCIC classes for the 2024-2025 academic year, please follow the instructions below.
Registration for RCIC classes for the 24-25 school year will open June 3rd. Please come back when that registration window arrives.
