Adult Ministries

We invite you to get involved and to minister to this youthful and growing population, over 20 adult ministries and organizations have been established, providing spiritual, social, and material benefits for the parishioners and the community.

Exposition & adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, as a means of focusing the heart & mind in prayer, with attention affixed on the mystery of the Eucharistic presence of Christ in church.

This ministry is responsible for setting up the sanctuary for weekend masses as well as cleaning & storing of vessels and linens after each mass. Volunteers are on a rotating schedule.

Court Divine Mercy #2318- serves the parish and community through active support and participation in charitable works as well as Parochial, diocesan, state and national levels. Open to Catholic women age eighteen and older.

Eucharistic Ministers are men and women in the parish who assist the celebrant with the distribution of the Holy Eucharist during the celebration of the Mass. In addition, these ministers also bring the Eucharist to the sick & home bound. All those who wish to become a Eucharistic Minister must attend and complete a parish training session.

This group provides opportunities for single or married adults 50 years and older to meet fellow parishioners in a Christian and social environment. Activities include themed pot luck dinners, guest speakers, one-day bus trips and small group specialty events.

In conjunction with the Baton Rouge Habitat Community, this ministry is dedicated to the elimination of poverty housing by working with low income families. Skilled, semi-skilled, and unskilled volunteers are needed to help refurbish/build homes here in our community.

A national fraternal service organization open to all Catholic men age eighteen years and older. Members of the Knights of Columbus endeavor to set examples of Christian Charity and promotion of Catholic values, both in the Church parish and the community. Meetings are held on the 3rd Wednesday of the Month at 7:00 pm in the St. John Room.

The Lay Apostolate of the Returning King is a new movement in the Catholic Church. We seek to develop our spirituality. As we become more aware of God's presence, accepting and knowing His love, we are able to bring His light and love to those around us. A choice of two meeting times are offered:  the second Monday of the month at 10:00 a.m. or the second Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. Meetings are held in the St. Mark Room located in the church office building.

Members of this ministry are those who proclaim the Scripture Readings at Mass on Sundays, Holy days of obligation and other special observances. Training sessions are required prior to beginning this ministry.  Lectors are placed on a rotating mass schedule.  Catholics that have received the Sacrament of Confirmation are eligible to serve in this ministry.

This wonderful ministry aims to serve all members of the church and surrounding community. Some of the services we provide are meals for up to two weeks after childbirth or surgery and food for families at the local funeral home or after the funeral service. We also pray for our active duty service men and women and send letters of encouragement and care packages to the Garfield House, a veterans transitional housing program in Baton Rouge.

A service and social organization for all men in the parish. Provides a variety of projects for the parish, school and community.  Meetings are held on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30pm.

A ministry that enables the community to express its faith in song.
MBS Choir sings at the 9:45 a.m. Mass. Rehearsals are on Wednesday nights at 7:00 p.m. in the church. All who have a love for singing are invited to join.

MBS Prayer Line supports the community in its concerns and specific needs through personal home prayer. The names & intentions of these individuals are offered up in prayer daily.

RCIA is a process of conversion-focused primarily on those belonging to a non-Catholic faith but seeking information on becoming a Catholic. The process begins in the Fall and concludes at Easter.

Stephen Ministry is composed of a group of trained lay ministers who serve as one-on-one caregivers to individuals facing a variety of crisis or life challenges such as hospitalization, chronic illness, job loss, grief, divorce, cancer, or other life struggles.  Stephen Ministers are called "after people" as they offer support after the crisis situation occurs.

A Ministry of Hospitality to all who attend our liturgies on Sundays and Holy Days.

They are men and women who help with the orderly flow of the liturgy during Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation; assisting wherever they are needed to help the congregation feel welcome and comfortable.
