The Church teaches that parents are the primary teachers of the Faith to their children.Because we honor this, we at MBS are committed to assisting both parents and children in growing their faith lives. The mission of the Parish School of Religion is to aide you in providing religious education for the age and maturity level of your children.
Religious education and spiritual formation require more than a casual commitment if they are to be effective. For this reason, the Office of Religious Education strongly encourages commitment to the following formula in building a solid foundation in our Catholic Faith.
When you submit the Registration Form, you make your commitment to and acknowledgment of these important criteria:
- Registration in and commitment to the MBS Parish Family.
- Regular attendance at Sunday Mass as a family. (and on Holy Days of Obligation)
- Commitment to Family Prayer
- Regular student attendance at religion classes
- Stewardship of Finance
- Involvement with parish ministry.
- A commitment to adult religious education through workshops and seminars offered by MBS Parish and the Diocese of Baton Rouge.
Registration for PSR programs will be online July 15, 2020 - August 15, 2020. Please note there are prerequisites that must be met for both First Communion and Confirmation preparation. For additional information, please call the Church Office at (225) 752-6230 or email email@example.com.
PSR K-8 meets two Sunday mornings each month and High School PSR meets one Sunday each month. All students, K-11, meet from 9:15 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on the MBS school campus.
Kindergarten is offered as a Religion readiness program but FIRST GRADE becomes mandatory in order to prepare for Sacraments in the Second Grade.
New and returning students must register for the new PSR year which will begin in mid-September.
We are commited to the safety of your children and our catechists. We continue to monitor the directives issued by the Governor Edwards and Bishop Duca. We ask for your patience as we plan for next year in this very fluid situation. At this time, we are planning to have in-person religious education. We may have to make some adjustments. We will announce those plans as we get closer to our 1st class which is September 13th.
